The James H. Barnhardt Student Activity Center
at
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Tickets
The ceremony is open to the public. Anyone who wishes to attend is welcome. No tickets are required to attend.

PARKING AND TRAFFIC

Parking will be provided on the UNC Charlotte campus for everyone attending the Commencement ceremonies.
Officers will assist in directing guests to designated parking areas. Families are encouraged to car pool as we are
expecting a capacity crowd.

MEETING FAMILY MEMBERS OR GUESTS
If you plan on meeting family members or guests before the Commencement ceremony, choose someplace other
than the main concourse near the food court. This is the line-up area that is reserved for students participating in
graduation. Parents or guests are not permitted in this area.

AFTER THE CEREMONY
The William States Lee College of Engineering will host a reception in the 3rd floor salons
of the Barnhardt Student Activity Center immediately following our 3:00 commencement on
Saturday, May 10. Graduates, their families and guests, alumni, faculty, and staff are invited
to attend.

GUESTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Parking spaces for guests with disabilities are available on a first come first served basis for vehicles identified by
official handicapped parking placards. Families are encouraged to car pool. Guests with disabilities should enter
from University City Boulevard and follow directions to the Barnhardt Student Activity Center. A limited number
of accessible parking spaces for persons with disabilities are located adjacent to the Barnhardt Student Activity
Center on a first come first served basis. All other parking areas are located within walking distance, but the
closest areas are likely to be occupied first. Guests who are unable to walk any appreciable distance should
consider bringing a wheelchair. There is no shuttle service to parking areas. Persons with physical restrictions and
individuals with disabilities need to arrive at least one hour before the start of the ceremonies to access parking and
accessible seating on a first come first served basis. If you cannot climb stairs, you and one companion may sit
alongside the railing of the main inner concourse. Other family members may occupy available adjacent tiered
seating areas. Seating areas for wheelchair users, who may be accompanied by one companion, will be designated
with signs and located on the main inner concourse alongside the railing.
